Nephrite, one of the two jades
Nephrite is one of two distinct materials commonly called jade; the other is jadeite. Knowing which material a bangle is identified as is a helpful starting point when you explore jade.
As you compare nephrite bangles, notice the color, pattern, translucency, surface, profile, and measurements. These details describe each piece’s appearance, but appearance alone cannot confirm a stone’s identity, origin, or treatment.
Our nephrite collection
Our current nephrite listings are presented as Pakistani nephrite. The individual product descriptions show a range of green appearances, including deep green, rich green, translucent green, and warm olive green. These are descriptions of the pieces shown, not rules for every nephrite stone from Pakistan.
For information about a particular bangle’s material, origin, and treatment, refer to its product details and supporting documentation where available.

How to read a bangle in the light
Light changes how nephrite looks. Near a window, some pieces let a soft glow pass through their edges, while others show a deep, even color with a gentle sheen on the surface. Look again in shade, where the green often reads darker and richer. Our photos show each piece in consistent light, but seeing it in your own space is part of getting to know it.

Choosing your size
The inner diameter matters most for a bangle. It has to pass over the widest part of your hand, not just your wrist. Each listing gives its inner measurement in millimeters. Compare it to a bangle you already own, or measure around your hand with the thumb tucked in, and check our Bangle Sizing Guide before you choose.

Profiles and finishes, explained
A half-round bangle is flat on the inside and curved on the outside, so it sits comfortably against the wrist. A square-edge bangle has crisper lines and a more architectural look. Finish matters too: a mirror polish gives a bright, glassy shine, while a softer polish has a quieter, satin look. Neither is better. It depends on how you want the piece to feel.
Living with nephrite
Take your bangle off before sports, heavy lifting, or anything where it could hit a hard surface. Clean it with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, and store it apart from other jewelry so nothing scratches it.
